Superheroes

I’ve always drawn superheroes, for as long as I can remember. Inspired by the Super Friends and Spider-Man and His Amazing Friends as a kid, and later by comic books and movies, I’ve always loved the superhero genre.

DC-Marvel united history

DC-Marvel united history

Here’s the story I posted back in 2006.

The concept is that the DC and Marvel characters live in a shared universe. The story connects the Doom Patrol and their inheritors the Teen Titans, with two generations of X-Men. I included Puck from Alpha Flight too because Alpha Flight rules.

X-Men as Avengers: Comrade Colossus

X-Men as Avengers: Comrade Colossus

This is from a series of character designs that imagines if the X-Men were welcomed as heroes or national treasures (like the Avengers) rather than shunned as outcasts. How would perception influence identity, costume design, and concept?

This is a concept design for a Hawkman space suit for the Rann-Thanagar War miniseries in 2005.

Velociphile

Velociphile

I forget what the contest was, but back in 2009 I created 3 superheroes based for the contest winners and one of them was a speedster called Velociphile (which sounds needlessly pervy, but it wasn’t a name I came up with).

Mallard Man

Mallard Man

Another contest winner from 2009, Mallard Man borrows heavily from the Battle of the Planets team’s costume design, with some Inspector Gadget twists.

Justice League

Justice League

A reimagining of the 1987 Kevin Maguire Justice League #1 cover, featuring the contemporary (as of 2007) versions of the characters.
